I had kids to keep me humble....

This morning I was in the kitchen with my two teenage boys and we were laughing because I was looking for something with fat in it....I am on my last LOAD day...tomorrow I start the VLCD--Very Low Calorie Diet--anyhow I was being funny and while pushing out my tummy, said, "This is going to this, and I sucked it in (yes, it hurt!). My sweet 16 year old said, "If I can do it Mom, you can do it." (Referring to the fact he is almost 6' and weighs like 155--he was quite ummm, pudgy a couple years ago and has really done well!) What a lucky mom I am to have such support!

So, We make our bagels with cream cheese and we were walking up the stairs, slowly, and he says from behind me, "Mom, this reminds me of when we are behind the slow campers on the road." I laughed--it was funny! Then he adds, "except...even the school buses pull over to the side to let people through!" Did I mention what a lucky mom I am! Humor can get you through anything, even when your kids tell you your the size of a bus!

Tomorrow the hard part starts and I am actually excited! Until then...

  1. Good for you, Kathy! I absolutely loved your post! If your kid weren't so cute, he'd need to be smacked for his "sense of humor!" LOL But I know he gets it from his mom! I can't wait to follow your blog (and your example) in 2010!
